About
The Primer Desk is where a complicated industry gets explained properly — from first principles, with every claim sourced. You should finish a brief actually understanding how the thing works, not just what to think about it.
Each piece here is a primer in the real sense. It starts at the beginning, builds a working model of how an industry actually operates, and then shows you where the durable money sits — the parts of a business that are genuinely hard to compete away, and the parts that only look that way. Everything is tied back to primary documents, so you can follow the trail and check it for yourself.
Who it's for
It's written for the curious reader who wants to understand a subject well enough to form their own view — not to be handed a conclusion. If you've ever finished an article feeling like you were told what to think but never shown why, this is meant to be the opposite of that.
What this isn't
None of this is investment advice, and there are no price targets or ratings anywhere on the site. The aim isn't to tell you what to buy — it's to explain how something works clearly enough that you could turn around and explain it to someone else, and to lay the evidence out so you can disagree in the open.
How it's made
Every brief is researched from source, put through a deliberately skeptical second read, and published only after it clears an internal quality check. There's a fuller account on the Method page.
Who publishes it
The Primer Desk is powered by Atlas Intelligence Research (AIR).
